Studying in the UK
Foreign students intending to study in a UK educational institution can apply for 2 types of visas:
Tier 4 (General) Student Visa
The Tier 4 General Student Visa is available to foreign students above 16 years of age who is intending to study in a UK educational institution. To apply for this visa, you must secure a place in the course in a licensed institution sponsor.
Holders of this visa can study, work as a student union sabbatical officer and work in most jobs (subject to conditions).
Tier 4 (Child) Student Visa
The Tier 4 Child Student Visa is for foreigners aged 4 to 17 years who intends to enter the UK and sit for a course in a UK independent school where their studies are at or under the level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework.
With this visa, you can participate in internships as an integral part of your studies, work as a sabbatical officer in the student union, undertake voluntary work, study another course.
